Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking an experienced Construction Trades Superintendent to recruit, evaluate, deploy, and optimize skilled trades talent across multiple job sites. Based in Richmond, VA, this role supports safety, productivity, quality, and schedule performance for Mechanical and Plumbing teams.

The Superintendent will partner with Operations leadership, project teams, and field supervision to manage a workforce of approximately 800 skilled crafts, focusing on workforce planning and staffing

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on large, complex construction projects.
  • Strong background in Mechanical and Plumbing construction.
  • Experience managing and supporting large skilled craft workforces.
  • Data center construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to evaluate craft skill levels, leadership potential, and job readiness.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Willingness to travel from the Richmond, VA area.

Responsibilities

  • Support workforce planning and staffing for large, complex construction projects.
  • Forecast labor needs for current and upcoming work with Operations leadership and project teams.
  • Evaluate trades professionals to determine appropriate job placement.
  • Assign craftsmen to projects based on experience, certifications, and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain 3-, 6-, and 12-month workforce forecasts aligned with schedules.
  • Build talent pipelines through schools, apprenticeships, and industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents, PMs, HR, and Operations on staffing needs and workforce adjustments.

This role is critical to ensuring the right craft professionals are assigned to the right projects at the right time—supporting safety, productivity, quality, and schedule performance across our Mechanical and Plumbing construction teams.Based in Richmond, VA, this position works closely with Operations leadership, project teams, and field supervision to manage a large workforce of approximately 800 skilled craft professionals.
