Job summary

MoDOT is seeking a Construction Technician for the O'Fallon Project Office in Missouri. The role provides semi-skilled paraprofessional support for engineering projects, under moderate supervision, performing basic construction tests and preparing reports.

You will enter project data, assist in inspections, and help ensure compliance with department standards. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, OSHA 10-Hour certification within 90 days, and successful completion of a work

Responsibilities

• Performs basic construction tests: air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, density and reports results.
• Prepares final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates through measurements and computations.
• Assists in inspection of paving materials and plants, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Maintains records and prepares inspection reports; informs supervisor of activities and issues.
• Enters and records project information into computer systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Job requires moderate physical activity.
• Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment.
• Basic math skills, consistent with high school level algebra, will be necessary to perform many of this title’s duties.
• Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
