MoDOT’s Hampton Project Office in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Construction Technician to support engineering projects under moderate supervision. Responsibilities include field testing (air, slump, moisture, density), preparing plans, inspections, and entering project data into computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic construction tests such as air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, and density; reports results to supervisor.
• Performs measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates.
• Assists in inspection of bituminous and portland cement concrete plants and/or grading, base, bituminous or concrete paving.
• Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to inspections; keeps supervisor informed of activities or unusual conditions; ensures projects meet department standards.
• Enters and records information regarding construction projects into computer programs.
