Job summary

MoDOT is seeking a Construction Technician in Poplar Bluff, MO. The role provides semi-skilled technical support for engineering projects under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic construction tests such as air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, and density; reports results to supervisor.
• Performs measurements and computations for final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates.
• Assists in inspection of bituminous and Portland cement concrete plants and paving activities.
• Maintains records and prepares inspection reports; informs supervisor of conditions; ensures standards are met.
• Enters construction project data into computer programs.

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the Intermediate starting salary of $44,729.52, and a Senior starting salary of $48,621.60.

Note for internal applicants: Successful candidates already at rates above the posted salary will be evaluated on an individual basis to determine final salary outcome.

• Job requires moderate physical activity.

• Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
