Job summary

The State of Missouri, MoDOT's Southwest District at the Clinton Project Office, seeks a construction technician to provide semi-skilled technical support for engineering projects in Clinton, MO. The role operates under moderate supervision and includes testing materials, assisting in plan prep, and recording inspection data.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, OSHA 10-hour certification within 90 days, and successful completion of a work simulation and a medical exam.

• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic construction tests such as air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, and density; report results to supervisor.
• Perform measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates.
• Assist in inspection of bituminous and portland cement concrete plants and/or grading, base, bituminous or concrete paving.
• Maintain records and prepare reports pertaining to inspections; keep supervisor informed of activities or unusual conditions; ensure projects meet department standards.
• Enter and record information regarding construction projects into computer programs.
