Job summary

SMC Ltd. seeks a construction inspection professional to oversee small to moderately complex projects, lead a team when needed, and ensure compliance with local and state codes during construction or renovation work.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, determining materials, guiding staff, and maintaining safety and quality standards across projects. Join our global medical market supplier with a strong growth trajectory and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma & higher training to include Technical or College level specific course work.
  • Ability to coordinate work flow, oversee company and customer quality requirements, prioritize company goals and objectives, and support other supervisors as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; be a team player; and have the ability to develop and maintain a team atmosphere. Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, ERP systems and IQMS.
  • Working knowledge of ISO, GMP and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of plans and specifications to ensure construction projects meet local and state requirements.
  • Analyzes work orders, job scopes and drawings to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
  • May assist the supervisor by instructing employees, answering questions, and distributing, balancing and checking work
  • Review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
  • Monitors schedules for the purpose of ensuring projects are completed within established timelines.
  • Regular Attendance
  • Provide assistance to all processes in emergency outages and administer efficient flow of all work.
  • Performs carpentry work in the construction or renovation of buildings or additions to existing structures
  • Operates, maintains and repairs various types of equipment used in construction and maintenance of building and grounds
  • Manage and operate all construction equipment and power hand tools.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Summary:

Performs construction related work including responsibility for inspection of small to moderately complex construction projects; may serve as a lead worker and provide guidance to other staff designated to assist with construction inspection; performs related work as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a Facility Engineer or similar role within industrial facilities.

  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods.

  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally.
  • \
  • Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.

  • Exposure to machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection.
  • \

Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
