Job summary

Southland Holdings, LLC in Beaumont, TX is seeking a detail oriented Construction Surveyor to support heavy civil construction projects. The role focuses on establishing and maintaining survey control, performing layout and staking, and verifying grades and elevations to ensure adherence to plans and quality standards.

Responsibilities include field measurements, topographic surveys, and preparation of survey records.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of construction surveying experience, preferably heavy civil/ bridge projects.
• Experience with layout, grade verification, and survey calculations.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret project documents.
• Proficient with GPS, robotic total stations, levels, and survey data collection software.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control throughout project lifecycle.
• Perform construction layout, staking, and field surveying of project elements.
• Verify lines, grades, elevations, and dimensions per plans and specs.
• Provide grade control support for bridge deck verification and QC.
• Conduct field measurements, topographic surveys, and quantity calculations.
• Prepare and update survey records, field notes, and as-built docs.
• Process survey data and generate deliverables for project teams.
• Coordinate with PMs, superintendents, engineers, and field personnel.
