At ISC, we are seeking a Construction Surveyor to join our Mission Critical Group in the Canton, Mississippi area. Our Construction Surveyor will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency in project execution. We are looking for a dedicated professional to support our field teams in establishing and maintaining precise layout and control throughout construction projects.

Summary

TheConstruction Surveyoris responsible for establishing and maintaininghorizontal and vertical controlon construction sites, ensuring precise layout of structural components, partitions, equipment, paving, and exterior improvements. This role supports field operations by utilizing surveying technology, proactively identifying conflicts, and coordinating project needs toprevent delaysandmaintain cost and schedule efficiency. The Construction Surveyor reports to theConstruction Surveyor Managerand works closely withProject Superintendentsto facilitate successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Promote apositive safety culturethrough proactive observations, conversations, and coaching.
• Utilizefield engineering and layout technologyto ensure accurate construction layout and alignment.
• Set up and operate surveying equipment, includingTrimble or similar total stations, GPS systems, and laser levels.
• Read and interpretblueprints, AutoCAD drawings, and project specificationsto ensure accurate layout.
• Perform layout verification forconcrete foundations, paving, structural components, and vertical concrete elements.
• Identify potential conflicts in construction documents and provide proactive solutions to prevent errors.
• Work closely with project teams toanticipate and coordinate layout needs, ensuring construction progress remains on schedule.
• Maintain accurate records of survey data, layout points, and field adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, andISC’s quality controlrequirements.
• Assist with training field personnel on surveying procedures and equipment use as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by theProject Manager or Project Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Education:High school diploma or equivalent required;degree in Construction Management, Survey Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience:Prior experience in commercial construction surveying or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency withsurveying equipmentsuch asTrimble, GPS systems, total stations, and laser levels.
• Experience inAutoCAD and blueprint readingrequired.
• Knowledge of layout techniques forfoundations, paving, and vertical concrete structurespreferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills tocollaborate with project teams and craft workers.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to50 lbs.occasionally.
• Work is primarily outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions,water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required. Work hours coincide with job site and office schedules.
