Job summary

Mullins Mechanical is seeking a Trimble Operator on site to coordinate layout, calibrate total station instruments and collect survey data for plumbing and HVAC projects. The role involves working with engineers and project managers across industrial sites, with travel to various project locations as needed.

You will assemble and operate total station instruments, ensure accurate measurements, and maintain data quality for reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Trimble / Total Station Operator.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and other project documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate layout, physical coordination, building corners and setbacks for plumbing and HVAC points and 3D scanning projects.
• Assemble and set up the total station instrument, calibrate and align for accurate measurements.
• Operate the total station to measure distances, angles, elevations per project requirements.
• Collect survey data: horizontal/vertical measurements, points, coordinates with safety in various conditions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot total station for accuracy and reliability.
• Check and verify collected survey data for errors during construction.
• Transfer and process survey data into software or databases for analysis/reporting.
• Prepare reports, logs, notes, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to coordinate construction activities.
