Job summary

Xylem is seeking a seasoned Field Construction Lead to mentor a small crew and supervise subcontractors across domestic and international customer sites. You will ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while coordinating schedules, manpower, and equipment.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record in industrial construction. Travel and overnight work are expected, with full compliance to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of construction site experience.
• Experience leading crews in industrial, mechanical, civil, or heavy construction environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven customer service and relationship management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Ability to obtain NCCCO Crane Certification and U.S. Passport.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and work with a three-person field construction crew.
• Assign daily work, monitor productivity, and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Supervise subcontractors and coordinate activities on customer job sites.
• Serve as on-site representative and customer liaison.
• Plan and coordinate project schedules, manpower, equipment, and resources.
• Monitor progress and resolve issues affecting safety, schedule, or budget.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to recommend product and process improvements.
• Champion a culture where safety is the first priority.
• Conduct JSAs, safety meetings, and site inspections.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and regulations.
