Job summary

McGuire Builders, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee hotel, restaurant, and tenant-improvement projects across Southern California from our Torrance office.

The role demands strong field leadership, attention to detail, and a proven track record in complex construction. You will coordinate subs, monitor safety and quality, manage schedules, read plans and specs, and communicate progress to project managers and clients.

Qualifications

• Oversee hotel, restaurant, and tenant-improvement construction projects across Southern California.
• Procore proficiency and familiarity with scheduling software and MS Office is required.
• Strong knowledge of California building codes, ADA requirements, construction methods, and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites across Southern California.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of construction projects on-site, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Direct and coordinate subcontractors, field staff, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
• Interpret and enforce project plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Maintain project schedules and proactively identify and resolve potential delays.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and safety meetings.
• Conduct quality control checks to meet or exceed client expectations.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to project managers and senior leadership.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
