Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Construction Superintendent to manage a high-end custom home project in San Diego from pad to owner move-in. This is a 1099 contractor position with full support from the hiring General Contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custom residential construction, proven leadership, and the ability to manage complex schedules and multiple trades with a high standard of quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily on-site construction activities

Coordinate all trades, subcontractors, and suppliers

Schedule and facilitate inspections with the local building department

Verify layout and ensure proper execution of plans and specifications

Maintain strict quality control and enforce site safety protocols

Identify and mitigate project risks proactively

Communicate regularly with the GC, project team, and clients

Ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years experience supervising custom home builds

Active General Liability Insurance

Deep knowledge of local codes, permitting, and inspection processes

Ability to read and interpret plans, layouts, and construction documents

Strong communication, scheduling, and leadership skills

Must be based in San Diego or surrounding areas

Support Provided:

GC will provide logistical and administrative support as needed

Assistance with coordination between trades and owner’s consultants

Compensation:

Competitive and based on experience, structured as a 1099 contract
