Job summary

Southway is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead projects in North Carolina, including the Raleigh/Triangle and Lexington regions. You will own planning, scheduling, safety, and quality while building relationships with owners, trade partners, and field teams.

Responsibilities include leading on-site activities from preconstruction through closeout, managing CPM schedules, lookaheads, coordination with subs, and driving a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of construction Superintendent experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects of $20M+.
• Strong scheduling experience, CPM and recovery planning.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with owners, trade partners and internal teams.
• Proficiency with Procore, MS Project and MS Office.

Southway is looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead projects in North Carolina, including the Raleigh/Triangle and Lexington regions. What You’ll Do

As a Superintendent, you’ll lead day-to-day field operations and partner closely with the Project Manager and project team to deliver safe, high-quality projects on schedule and on budget. You will:

• Lead all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Develop, manage, and communicate project schedules, including CPM schedules, three-week look-aheads, sequencing, and recovery plans when needed.
• Lead daily coordination with subcontractors and trade partners to keep work moving safely and efficiently.
• Own jobsite safety and quality, including orientations, inspections, quality control processes, and corrective action.
• Build strong relationships with owners, design teams, inspectors, trade partners, and other project stakeholders.
• Proactively identify project challenges and develop solutions before they impact the schedule, budget, or client.
• Partner with the Project Manager to manage general conditions, subcontractor scopes, RFIs, submittals, inspections, logistics, and project documentation.
• Manage project progress, punch list, inspections, as-builts, and closeout activities.
• Lead and develop Assistant Superintendents and field team members through regular coaching, feedback, and opportunities to grow.
• Help create a jobsite culture built around accountability, collaboration, communication, and respect.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $147,000–$175,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

What You Bring

We’re looking for an experienced construction leader who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to lead people and projects.

• 12+ years of construction Superintendent experience
• Demonstrated experience successfully leading projects of $20M+
• Significant experience leading and developing project teams
• Advanced knowledge of construction means and methods, drawings, specifications, contract documents, and building requirements
• Strong scheduling experience, including CPM schedules and recovery planning
• Thorough understanding of quality control, inspections, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination
• Strong knowledge of jobsite safety practices and the ability to successfully manage safety compliance
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and MS Project
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
• Ability to build productive relationships with owners, design partners, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams
• A proactive mindset and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-moving construction environment

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and AED training are required and may be completed after hire.
