Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on construction estimator/manager to lead cost estimation, budgeting and scheduling across multiple sites. The role requires extensive on-site coordination and travel to remote markets to ensure projects stay on time and within budget.

Applicants should have construction experience (multi-family preferred), a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with NAV, ProCore, Sage and Microsoft Office. Travel 75%+ is expected.

Qualifications

• Construction experience required; multi-family preferred.
• Willingness to travel at least 75% and work on sites.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience with cost estimation, budgeting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, construction budgets and schedules.
• Inspect worksites and ensure compliance with codes and contracts.
• Determine material, subcontractor and labor needs.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings.
• Coordinate on-site activities of Camp employees, subs and vendors.
• Assist with buy-out of jobs within budget and assist sales/PM on larger jobs.
• Ensure projects meet schedule and budget targets.
• Review invoices and timesheets for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Travel to remote markets to prepare estimates and establish operations.
• Identify, evaluate and select local subcontractors and vendors.
• Strive to minimize costs while maintaining quality; seek continuous improvement.

Job description

• Prepare cost estimates, construction budgets and construction schedules.
• Inspect worksites.
• Determine material, subcontractor and labor requirements.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings.
• Coordinate and direct all on-site activities of Camp employees, sub-contractors, craftsmen, tradesmen and vendors to ensure that Camp’s goals and standards are met.
• Buy-out of jobs within an approved construction budget of less than $5,000.00
• Assist salesman/project manager with buy-out of jobs in excess of $5,000.00.
• Ensure that jobs are completed on schedule and on budget.
• Review invoices and timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
• Travel to remote markets to prepare cost estimates, establish operations, follow local building codes, means and methods.
• Identify, investigate and select local subcontractors and vendors.
• Creatively participate in building Camp’s success by keeping costs low and quality high.
• Seek out additional ways to achieve excellence, both personally and corporately

Requirements

• Ability to travel a minimum of 75%
• Construction experience required, multi-family preferred
