Job summary

Nassal, part of the PCL family, is seeking a Construction Student for its Orlando, FL office to join the team this summer. You will assist field and project teams, conduct safety and quality audits, read drawings, log submittals, and support with surveying, layout, and documentation.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and MS Office skills, with OSHA knowledge valued. Eligibility to work in the US and a valid driver's license are required for a May–August full-time internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline preferred.
• The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other construction industry-related software.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Available to work in Orlando, FL, full-time from May to August.
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
• Conduct safety audits and quality audits.
• Read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Log submittals, process RFIs and prepare reports.
• Assist with surveying and project layout.
• Maintain and update field drawings, field equipment, and records.
• Assist with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field staff.
• Coordinate material deliveries and documentation.
• Attend relevant project meetings.
• Prepare memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents.
• Assist with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing.
