Job summary

Nassal Construction Inc. in Orlando, FL is offering a Construction Student internship within the PCL family.

You’ll assist engineers, project managers, and superintendents while gaining hands-on experience in safety, QA/QC, drawings, submittals, RFIs, surveying, and documentation. Qualified candidates are pursuing an engineering- or construction-related degree with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline preferred.
• The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) and other construction industry-related software.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Available to work in Orlando, FL, full-time from May to August.
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents
• Conduct safety audits and quality audits
• Read and understand drawings and specifications
• Log submittals, process RFI’s and prepare reports
• Assist with surveying and project layout
• Maintain and update field drawings, field equipment, and records
• Assist with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field staff
• Coordinate material deliveries and documentation
• Attend relevant project meetings
• Prepare memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
• Assist with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
• Other duties as assigned
