CDM Smith is seeking a construction specialist to join our CCI electrical and automation team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This entry-level role offers hands-on learning across technical, field, and site administration duties on diverse projects.

You will support review of documents, cost evaluation, scheduling, and General Conditions, collaborating with the project team and vendors to ensure timely, safe completion while delivering quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, research causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Proficient computation skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of contract specifications, quality plans, design and construction submittals, and drawings.

Responsabilités

• Review documents, assist in pre-bid site visits during the pursuit phase.
• Assist in determining total project costs by evaluating proposals and researching labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Develop a preliminary schedule for engineering and construction.
• Develop General Conditions based on bidding requirements.
• Work with the project team, subcontractors, client, owners, and others to ensure timely and safe project completion.
• Ensure timely arrival and installation of materials and equipment with field personnel and vendors.
• Prepare and review submittals and issue construction documents to field crews.
• Supervise project activities and interpret drawings for foremen and superintendents.
• Conduct inspections to maintain QC reporting.
• Collaborate with Health and Safety professionals during procurement.
• Close-out: complete contract deliverables and finalize records and as-builts.
