Job summary

PerimeterSecurityPartners is seeking a motivated Traveling Construction Specialist to install and repair security bollards, active and passive vehicle barrier equipment, security fencing, and personnel gates across the United States. Outdoor work supports government, military, industrial, and commercial clients.

The role involves assisting crew with ACP/ECP installation and repair, operating common hand tools and powered equipment, and working under a Superintendent or Foreman to follow daily

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience as a construction tradesperson.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to access military installations and similar controlled areas.
• Experience operating powered equipment is preferred.
• Experience installing a variety of security fencing and gates is preferred.
• Experience placing and finishing reinforced concrete is preferred.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely accomplish construction trade work in outdoor conditions according to a daily work plan.
• Execute construction tasks with common hand tools (shovels, picks, screwdrivers, wrenches, saws, drills, pry bars).
• Operate powered equipment (skid steer, boom forklift, trencher, concrete saw, mini-excavator).
• Work cooperatively with other Construction Specialists to complete the daily plan.
• Set and finish concrete, install/repair fencing and gates, and repair barrier systems as directed.
• Maintain safety standards and proper use of PPE.
• Drive company truck to and from jobsites.

TheConstructionSpecialistwillperformawidevarietyofconstructiontaskssuchas:equipmentoperation;forming,placing,andfinishingconcrete;tyingreinforcingbarforconcretefoundations;layout,installation,andrepairofsecurityfencingandgates;demolition/excavation;andothertaskswithintheircompetencyasdirected.TheConstructionSpecialistwillworkunderthedirectionofaSuperintendentorForemanwhowillprovideadailyworkplan,deliversafetybriefs,andprovideon-the-jobtrainingtoexpandthesuccessfulcandidate’sskillsandexperience.

Duties

TheConstructionSpecialistmustbeabletosafelyaccomplishconstructiontradeworkinoutdoorconditionsinaccordancewithadailyworkplan.

Executeconstructiontaskswithavarietyofcommonhandtools,toincludeshovels,picks,screwdrivers,wrenches,saws,drills,andprybars.

Experiencesafelyoperatingavarietyofpoweredequipment,toincludeaskidsteer,shootingboomforklift,trencher,concretesaw,andmini-excavatorisamust.

WorkcooperativelywithotherConstructionSpecialiststoaccomplishthedailyworkplan.

Withtrainingandexperience,theConstructionSpecialistwillsawcutanddemolishexistingconcreteandasphaltpaving,excavateearth,setandbracebarrier/fenceequipment,placeandfinishconcrete,assemblegates/fences/barriers.

Maintainallsafetystandards,includingtheproperuseofpersonalprotectiveequipment.

Unloadmaterialarrivingtothejobsite.

Setandremovetrafficcontroldevices,erosioncontroldevices,andtemporaryfenceasrequired.

Excavate,backfill,grade,andcompactsitestomeetdesigncriteria.

Conductinspectionsofequipment,tools,andvehiclesbeforeusetoensuresafetyandproperoperationthroughtheuseofestablishedchecklists.

Cleanandmaintaintools,equipment,vehicles,andmaterialsinaccordancewithmanufacturerrecommendationsandcompanypolicy.

Drivecompanytruckstoandfromjobsites.

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications
