Job Description: Site Supervisor, Construction (Full Time)

Reports To: Construction Project Manager

Type: Full-time, hourly (40 hours/week) with benefits, including health, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid vacation, sick days, and holidays

Location: Norwell, Massachusetts, with travel across southeastern Massachusetts

Position Summary

The Site Supervisor oversees construction projects, ensuring they meet Habitat standards. Responsibilities include supervising volunteers, coordinating contractors, and working with Family Partners on-site. The role reports weekly to the Construction Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain high standards for building quality, affordability, and safety.
2. Construct homes according to blueprints and local codes, on schedule.
3. Coordinate daily objectives and material orders with the Construction Project Manager.
4. Review volunteer needs weekly with the Volunteer Coordinator.
5. Complete and submit weekly progress reports.
6. Attend construction meetings as needed.
7. Ensure safety procedures are followed and the site remains clean and organized.
8. Manage volunteers, assign tasks, and ensure a positive experience.
9. Maintain tools and site safety signage.
10. Coordinate work to meet project milestones and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Construction Site Supervisor License
• At least three years of residential construction experience, especially in building one- and two-family homes
• Ability to read blueprints and understand building codes
• Strong communication, coaching, and volunteer management skills
• Basic math and mechanical skills
• Physical ability to perform heavy labor and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Valid MA driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Willingness to work some Saturdays and travel across multiple sites

Physical and Certification Requirements

Must have physical stamina, strength, and balance, capable of lifting 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Certifications include Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License and annual Habitat-specific training.
