Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Memphis is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead, direct and coordinate the work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor on a major project. You will ensure safety, on-time schedule delivery, quality of work, and adherence to budget, with supervisory responsibility for assistants and field personnel.

Reports to the Project Superintendent, Project Manager or Project Executive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years' related experience.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and staffing levels for trades.
• Coordinate work among trades to promote coordinated project operations.
• Manage the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers and Interns; provide input on performance appraisals.
• Create schedules and determine sequencing of work; develop recovery strategies to maintain schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues; investigate and resolve.
• Manage billing related to Work In Place and oversee monthly estimates, payrolls, and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure work installed complies with contract documents.
