Third Sector New England is seeking an on‑call Site & Safety Training Trainer in New York City to deliver DOB‑compliant SST courses for immigrant construction workers and other low‑wage workers. You will work with the CWU team to strengthen membership and promote health and safety awareness.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish instruction, DOB/OSHA trainer qualifications, and the ability to develop curricula while maintaining meticulous records.

Competenze

• Active DOB/OSHA-authorized Construction Trainer in good standing.
• Bilingual, with strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.
• Experience working with low-wage workers, immigrant communities, labor unions.
• Strong health and safety background and knowledge of occupational safety standards.
• Outstanding teaching skills for adult learners and ability to engage diverse groups.
• Demonstrated ability to develop curricula aligned with DOB and WJP requirements.
• Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and reporting.
• Excellent writing and communication abilities.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.

Mansioni

• Conduct DOB-approved 10‑Hour Site Safety Training (SST) and 8‑Hour SST Refresher courses in English and Spanish for immigrant workers.
• Maintain all class logs, sign-in/out sheets, and completion records per WJP and DOB protocols.
• Educate participants about WJP programs and the importance of collective worker action.
• Identify potential worker leaders for CWU follow-up and leadership development.
• Collaborate with the Program and Training Coordinator to ensure timely documentation for funder and DOB reporting.
• Develop curricula and training materials in line with DOB and WJP standards.
