Job summary

Worker’s Justice Project in New York City seeks a Site & Safety Training Trainer (On Call, Temporary) to deliver 10-hour SST and 8-hour Refresher trainings in English and Spanish for immigrant construction workers. The role requires DOB certification and strong teaching skills within a CWU team setting.

As an on-call trainer, you will work to ensure accurate documentation, participate in ongoing DOB-required seminars, and contribute to broad workforce safety goals in NYC.

Qualifications

• Active DOB/OSHA-authorized Construction Trainer in good standing.
• Bilingual with strong written and verbal English/Spanish skills.
• Experience with low-wage workers, immigrant communities, and labor unions.
• Strong health and safety background and knowledge of OSHA standards.
• Excellent teaching and curriculum development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver DOB-approved 10-Hour SST and 8-Hour SST Refresher courses in English and Spanish for immigrant construction workers.
• Maintain DOB Course Provider status and ensure proper documentation for attendance and completion.
• Identify potential worker leaders during trainings for follow-up by CWU team.
