Job description

As a Construction Site Safety Manager, you will report to the Project Safety Manager and play a pivotal role in executing the project’s safety plan and maintaining the company safety program, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and regulatory safety standards across ND, MN, GA, and FL.

The base rate for this position ranges from $40 to $50 per hour, with eligibility for overtime and per‑diem as specified in the project contract.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily site observations to ensure all work activities adhere to company, customer, and regulatory safety standards.
  • Identify potential hazards and unsafe behaviors, proactively implementing measures to mitigate risks.
  • Perform precise atmospheric testing, maintain calibration records, and manage safety equipment.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, documenting findings, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Provide real‑time recommendations to address unexpected safety concerns on site.
  • Ensure all safety permits (hot work, confined spaces, scaffolding) are accurately managed and compliant.
  • Maintain safety documentation to meet audit and regulatory standards.
  • Identify safety solutions that minimize project downtime and financial losses.
  • Track usage of safety resources (permits, gear) for cost‑effective utilization.
  • Support sustainable safety practices and monitor compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Respond promptly to site safety needs, communicating with subcontractors, workers, and clients.
  • Participate in safety meetings, share observations, and contribute to refining project safety procedures.
  • Assist in executing the project safety plan, ensuring all safety protocols are operational from day one.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure consistent adherence to safety practices.
  • Work closely with the Project Site Safety Manager and site personnel for effective coordination.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating proper safety practices and encouraging others.
  • Take initiative to address safety issues proactively, even when working independently.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction site safety management or related field.
  • OSHA 30‑hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: NCCCO Rigger Level I certification; candidates willing to obtain within 90 days considered.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience implementing and managing safety programs in construction projects.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
  • Certification in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
