Job summary

Contra Costa Electric, Inc., an EMCOR company, is recruiting for a Safety Coordinator in Martinez, CA. This role reports to the Safety Director and focuses on evaluating work environments and designing programs to control and prevent incidents.

You will conduct inspections, train personnel, and enforce health and safety regulations while leading jobsite safety meetings. A strong knowledge of OSHA standards and collaboration with project teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a safety capacity.
• OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent and 24 hours of related coursework every four years.
• Knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, and city regulations and practices.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Certified First Aid and CPR Trainer

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Safety Program, OSHA, and company policies; provide safe working environments.
• Lead jobsite safety meetings and advise site management on safety responsibilities.
• Inspect workplaces for Cal/OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other safety regulations; implement protective measures.
• Coordinate with Project Foreman to plan activities and obtain necessary high-risk permits.
• Manage Lock out Tag Out program and conduct safety audits at job sites.
