Job summary

Port Fidalgo Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for on-site management at US-OK-Tinker AFB.

The SSHO will oversee the Accident Prevention Plan, conduct daily safety inspections, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with safety requirements during construction activities. The role requires experience as SSHO on large projects, OSHA training, and strong communication with contractors and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as SSHO on large projects with safety program oversight.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed within last 3 years.
• CSP or safety degree strongly preferred; government contracting a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication with internal/external teams.
• Competent in safety reporting and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Write job-specific Accident Prevention Plan.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain a log.
• Investigate mishaps and complete required reports.
• Maintain OSHA Form 300 and daily production logs.
• Attend pre-construction and progress meetings; enforce safety rules.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain MSDS and safety reference materials on site.
