Position Summary:
Blackwood Group LLC seeks a Construction Site Manager in Chicago, IL (and/or any unanticipated worksite locations) - Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Serves as the primary point of contact on the construction site to all members of the construction team to ensure smooth operations.
Specific responsibilities include: overseeing all day-to-day operations on the construction site; managing and coordinating the work of subcontractors, laborers, and other on-site personnel; ensuring that the project schedule is followed and that milestones are met; leading, mentoring, and managing the on-site construction team and fostering a productive and collaborative work environment; resolving conflicts and issues that arise among the team or with subcontractors; working closely with the project manager, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders; ensuring that all work is performed according to the plans, specifications, and project timeline; coordinating deliveries of materials and equipment to ensure timely progress; conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements; monitoring the quality of work being performed on-site and address any deficiencies or issues promptly; enforcing strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols on the construction site and conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions; ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes, permits, and regulations; monitoring project expenses and resource utilization on-site and address potential cost overruns or inefficiencies; assisting in managing the project budget to keep the project on track financially; providing regular updates to the project management team and other stakeholders; identifying potential risks and issues early on and develop strategies to mitigate them; troubleshooting and resolving any problems that arise during construction; maintaining accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any incidents on-site; and preparing and submitting reports on site operations, including progress, safety, and quality control. The Construction Site Manager will supervise 1 - 10 employees depending on the project (e.g., foreman’s, laborers, and carpenters).
