WHO YOU ARE

The Construction Manager (CM) is a key member of the Development team, reporting to the Director. The role involves overseeing and assisting with new and existing franchisee projects, ensuring schedules and budgets are met, and serving as the Project Manager for cross-functional team coordination. The position may also oversee company-owned store projects.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

• Fully remote position, with up to 50% travel required.
• Open to candidates within our national footprint, including major airports in Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, or Phoenix.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage projects using FranConnect and GC trackers, ensuring alignment among franchisees, contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Lead initial planning by collaborating with stakeholders and proactively identifying risks.
• Schedule and coordinate project timelines and budgets.
• Prepare budgets and communicate progress with stakeholders.
• Address issues promptly to stay on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Develop standards for store buildouts and support franchisees in construction budgeting, contractor selection, and adherence to brand standards.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues and manage delays or emergencies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with all project participants.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND BEHAVIORS

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, FranConnect, and Microsoft Office.
• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience, preferably with a QSR or fast casual brand opening 100+ locations annually.
• Experience in restaurant development project management is preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, codes, permits, and regulations.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• High integrity, decision-making skills, and ability to work under pressure.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to inspect job sites in all weather conditions, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Problem-solving skills to address delays or issues.
• On-call availability for emergencies or delays.
