Overview




As a Geotechnical Field Technician or Construction Services Specialist (ICC Certified) for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be part of a highly trained and experienced team that performs observations and testing during earthwork and building construction of commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. Construction materials testing services typically include soil/rock, aggregate, asphalt, steel, and concrete materials.

At CEC, our field staff hold ICC certifications and bring extensive experience as special inspectors and quality assurance personnel. We encourage anyone with the drive and aptitude to follow an established, yet customizable career pathway, leading to leadership roles within the company.

We're seeking individuals capable of performing high-level special inspections in areas such as structural steel framing, connections, fireproofing, and life safety. You will learn about our organization's culture, methodology, and commitment to excellence. You will have the opportunity to mentor early-career staff and explore career advancement.






Qualifications




    Minimum of 1-3 years field experience working on construction projects performing some or all of the following inspections or testing:
    • Earthwork inspections and field testing.
    • Concrete sampling and field testing.
    • Bearing grade inspections for foundations.
    • Structural steel inspections.
    • Concrete masonry unit inspections and grout testing.
  • Ability to interpret project plans and specifications;
  • Strong computer skills including using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Ability to write accurate and concise field reports.

Certification and Degree:

  • NICET, ICC and ACI Certifications preferred;
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
