Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking a Safety Technician for its Chicago 573 operations based in Zurich, IL. The role focuses on promoting safe work practices, administering safety plans, and supporting safety committees.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, and strong communication skills. The position is safety-sensitive and not visa sponsored, with a pay range of $30-37 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-4 years' experience in construction safety.
• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Displays strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture among all site and field personnel.
• Assist with the administration of PCI's Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures, on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices.
• Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
• Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards
• Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
• Coach employees to achieve compliance with accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards
• Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance
• Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
• Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of PCI
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
