Job summary

Helix Electric is seeking a dependable Laborer in Cedar Rapids, IA to support safe, efficient jobsite operations. The role focuses on acting as a dedicated spotter, monitoring hazards, and guiding the safe movement of equipment and personnel within active work zones.

Candidate will work a production-driven schedule, wear PPE, and follow project safety plans. OSHA 10 as a baseline; willingness to obtain OSHA 30 is preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA 10 required or ability to obtain; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Experience on construction sites and with safety protocols.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as dedicated spotter with clear communication.
• Monitor work areas for hazards and access controls.
• Guide safe movement of equipment and personnel in zones.
• Maintain visual contact with operators during activities.
• Assist with barricades, warning zones and traffic control.
• Support ladder safety and MEWP-related tasks.
• Follow safety plans and required trainings.
• Wear PPE at all times and promote safe practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
