Job summary

HazTek Safety Management in Newark, NJ is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to support commercial construction projects. You will drive OSHA compliance, lead daily safety meetings, and investigate accidents to prevent recurrence.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction safety, OSHA 30 hour Construction and First Aid/CPR certifications, and knowledge of Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience required
• OSHA 30 hour Construction and First Aid/CPR certifications required
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards
• Experience in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation
• Must be able to work day and night shift as needed
• Excellent verbal and written skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of a commercial construction project ensuring OSHA compliance
• Conduct daily safety meetings
• Complete accident reports and conduct accident investigations
• Ensure all personnel wear their PPE
• Daily safety audits and inspections
• Inspect power tools and heavy equipment
