Compliance Management International (CMI) in Elkton, VA seeks an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to support a pharmaceutical construction project.

This long‑term safety leadership role requires field oversight, hazard recognition, and compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926. The position offers competitive compensation and strong professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Pharmaceutical construction safety experience required.
• Current OSHA 510 approved.
• Current OSHA 30‑Hour Construction in past five years.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments and observations.
• Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Support Pre‑Task Plans (PTPs), JSAs/JHAs, permits, and incident investigations.
• Conduct orientations, toolbox talks and safety training.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and client safety requirements.
• Monitor high‑risk activities including electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, cranes/rigging, LOTO and hot work.
• Maintain required safety reports and documentation.
• Coach field personnel and partner with project leadership to improve safety performance.

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to support an active pharmaceutical construction project in Elkton, VA.

• Experience overseeing high‑risk construction activities.
• Strong communication, leadership, and hazard recognition skills.
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• CHST, STS‑C, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP certification.
• OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, or related safety certifications.
• Degree in Occupational Safety, EHS, or a related field.

Field‑based position requiring daily oversight of active construction operations. Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, climb ladders, work at heights, navigate construction environments, and lift up to 30 pounds.
