Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist to oversee safety programs on projects in Philadelphia, PA and South Jersey. This full-time role emphasizes OSHA compliance, hazard control, and practical site leadership.

You’ll conduct inspections, review plans, train crews, and ensure regulatory adherence while supporting a safety‑first culture and career development within a global EHS services firm.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience in a refinery or petro-chemical setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• TWIC card preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED current.
• Strong communication and field coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily safety oversight for contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Review JHAs/JSAs, permits, and safety documentation.
• Coach crews on OSHA compliance and safe practices.
• Investigate incidents and track corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and client requirements.

Construction Safety Specialist

Philadelphia, PA and South Jersey Area | Full-Time | CMI

Compliance Management International (CMI) is hiring an experienced Safety Specialist for projects in Philadelphia, PA and South Jersey. This is a long-term career opportunity for a hands‑on Safety Professional with strong petro‑chemical or refinery, OSHA compliance, and field safety experience.

What You’ll Do

• Provide daily construction safety / EHS oversight for contractors and subcontractors
• Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and observations
• Review JHAs/JSAs, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, toolbox talks, and safety documentation
• Coach trades and contractors on OSHA compliance and safe work practices
• Monitor chemical exposures using a respirator
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and track corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, client requirements, and site‑specific safety programs

Requirements

• 3+ years of construction safety experience in a Refinery or Petro-chemical setting
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction required
• TWIC, Transportation Worker Identification Credential, card preferred
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED
• Strong hazard recognition, communication, coaching, and field leadership skills
• Reliable transportation to travel to different sites to oversee construction
