Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Health, Safety and Security leader to drive HSE strategies across large industrial projects in Colorado. The role emphasizes building a strong safety culture, leading safety programs, and directing contractor safety management on brownfield facilities.

You will mentor site teams, conduct safety audits, manage incident investigations, and coordinate with engineering and construction management to ensure compliance with OSHA CFR 1926 and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, or project management preferred.
• A recognized safety membership or qualification (CSP, ASP, CHST) preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive Health, Safety and Security experience with 5+ years leading site safety on large brownfield industrial projects.
• Experience with API/PSM facilities preferred.
• Experience on large CAPEX industrial projects across heavy civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
• Experience with process equipment and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practical HSE methods to mitigate hazards at project level.
• Coach and onboard project personnel, contractors, and trade partners on safety standards.
• Lead safety strategies and policies for projects and contractor management.
• Promote Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention through safety practices.
• Ensure contractor safety alignment with standards and QA/QC guidelines.
• Lead program safety committee, track metrics and report safety statistics monthly.
• Drive continuous safety improvement through trend analysis and initiatives.
• Collaborate with project teams to align safety programs with site expectations.
• Oversee field reps and support daily construction safety activities.
• Deliver site safety leadership training and awareness programs.
• Partner with contractors to deliver transparent audits and safety culture.
• Maintain monthly safety metrics for audits, incidents and proactive activities.
• Support leadership with field walks and action tracking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
