Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a seasoned Construction Safety Specialist to oversee AHAs and SSSPs, perform routine inspections, and lead safety briefings on our Virginia projects. The role demands a strong track record in construction safety, OSHA compliance, and proactive incident investigation.

You will partner with project managers and field crews to foster a culture of safety, maintain documentation, and drive continuous improvement across commercial and industrial sites in Newport News area.

Qualifications

• 13 years of construction safety experience in commercial and/or industrial projects.
• Mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing construction experience preferred.
• Experience developing AHAs and SSSPs.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting software.
• Ability to work effectively with field personnel and project management teams.
• Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction (OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 preferred), First Aid/CPR Certification, CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or other construction safety certifications are a plus.
• Preferred Industry Background: Commercial Construction, Industrial Construction, Mechanical Construction, HVAC, Plumbing, Design-Build Contractors, MEP Contractors.

• Maintain safety documentation, reports, inspection records, and compliance metrics.
