Job summary

John Moriarty & Associates is seeking a full-time Safety Manager to oversee safety on multiple construction projects in the Washington D.C. metro area.

You will manage safety and health requirements, travel daily between jobsites, and ensure OSHA compliance across projects. Responsibilities include leading pre-job safety meetings, onboarding subcontractors into safety databases, conducting safety orientations, site inspections, incident investigations, and maintaining safety records.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field preferred.
• BCSP certification or STS-C/CHST preferred.
• OSHA 30 certified.
• First Aid, CPR, AED certified preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-job safety meetings with subcontractors.
• Assist project teams with subcontractor safety startup onboarding.
• Conduct safety meetings with subcontractors and project teams.
• Lead site safety orientations and hazard recognition inspections.
• Perform site walkthroughs and OSHA compliance inspections.
• Maintain project safety databases and recordkeeping.
• Investigate incidents and maintain records.
• Communicate safety issues with subcontractor leadership.
