Job summary

AstraWorks, a recruiting agency specializing in Power, Energy, Renewable Energy, and Design/Build markets, is partnering with an EPC contractor to identify a Construction Site Safety Manager for large-scale projects.

The role leads site-level EHS initiatives, conducts safety training, ensures OSHA and NFPA compliance, and coordinates with subcontractors across electrical, civil, and structural scopes on heavy civil and renewable energy sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety management experience.
• Experience with gas-fired/combined-cycle plants, industrial, battery storage or renewable energy projects preferred.
• Experience supporting EPC contractors in complex industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Experience managing subcontractor safety compliance in multi-trade environments.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Certification preferred: CSP, CHST, or OSHA 500/510.

Responsibilities

• Lead all site-level Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives on active construction projects.
• Conduct new hire orientation and ongoing safety training for craft labor, field supervision, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NESC, and state-specific safety regulations.
• Facilitate subcontractor alignment meetings and ensure adherence to project-specific safety programs.
• Lead incident investigations involving property damage, near-miss events, and personal injury.
• Implement corrective action plans and root cause analysis.
• Conduct job site audits, safety inspections, and field safety observations.
• Review and approve Pre-Task Plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Pre-Work Hazard Surveys.
• Ensure subcontractor prequalification and safety documentation compliance.
• Lead weekly supervisory safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Submit weekly and monthly safety reporting metrics.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all heavy civil, structural, and electrical construction scopes.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety management experience
• Experience working on gas-fired power plants, combined-cycle plants, indsutrial, battery storage facilities, or renewable energy projects strongly preferred
• Experience supporting EPC contractors in complex industrial construction environments
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Experience managing subcontractor safety compliance in multi-trade environments (electrical, civil, structural steel, mechanical, foundations, underground utilities)
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
• CSP, CHST, or OSHA 500/510 certification preferred
• Ability to work in energized environments and coordinate with utility clients
