Job summary

Onward Technologies Limited is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and oversee all EHS activities for a long-term construction project in Oregon. You will manage safety programs on industrial and power construction sites, ensuring OSHA and EM 385-1-1 compliance and promoting a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience as a Safety Manager on large construction or industrial projects.
  • Strong experience in industrial facilities, power plants, heavy construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience leading safety programs and teams on complex sites.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all site safety activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive site safety plans and procedures.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training for project personnel.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain all required safety documentation, reports, permits, and regulatory records.
  • Work closely with project management, construction teams, and client representatives to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Participate in client safety meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and oversee all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities for a long-term construction project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing safety programs on large industrial or power generation projects and be well-versed in OSHA and EM 385-1-1 requirements.

Hydropower project experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong industrial or power plant construction experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • SSHO (Site Safety & Health Officer) training/certification (required).
  • EM 385-1-1 training and demonstrated knowledge (required).
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced construction environment.
