Job summary

Superior is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to ensure on-site safety for all team members at our Fort Wayne project in Indiana. You will lead safety professionals, manage risk, and oversee incident investigations on a high-visibility construction site.

The role requires strong leadership, OSHA credentials, and a track record in construction safety. Eligible for overtime, with compensation in a competitive hourly range and relocation support for mid- and senior-level candidates.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Construction Standards course completed.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction training completed.
  • CHST certification or willingness to sit for it.
  • Bonus: ASP or CSP certification recognized by BCSP.
  • Bonus: Experience in electrical construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of safety professionals on the jobsite.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations, Project Operations, general contractor and trade partners.
  • Conduct jobsite trainings and maintain training records.
  • Investigate and document injuries/incidents/near misses; identify root causes; implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate procedures for crane lifts, excavations, electrical and other high-risk activities.
  • Maintain daily reports describing activities, conversations, issues, and other relevant items.

Description

Position: Construction Safety Manager
Reports to: Head of Safety
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Pay Range: $45 - $57 per hour (Eligible for overtime)

Superior is looking for a Construction Safety Manager to ensure that every team member on our jobsites is safe and secure. The Construction Safety Manager will maintain safe conditions for people and property, investigate and prevent accidents, analyze risks, and handle emergency response. This role is based on a jobsite in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of safety professionals on our jobsite, finding ways to help each grow and succeed
  • Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the general contractor and other trade partners
  • Conduct various jobsite trainings for team members, and ensure that all training records are logged and maintained
  • Investigate and document all injuries, incidents, and near misses; identify the root cause(s); and implement corrective actions
  • Evaluate and ensure proper procedures for crane lifts, excavations, electrical, and other high-risk activities
  • Maintain daily reports describing activities completed, critical conversations, issues, and other relevant items
Your Expertise
  • Required: You have at least 5 years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry
  • Required: You have a First Aid/CPR certification
  • Required: You have completed the OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards course for the Construction Industry
  • Required: You have completed an OSHA 30-hour construction training course
  • Required: You have your CHST certification or are willing/eligible to sit for it
  • Bonus Points: You are an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
  • Bonus Points: You have experience in electrical construction
