Job summary

The Superior Group is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator for Central Ohio. This on-site role focuses on maintaining safe conditions on job sites, investigating incidents, and supporting emergency response. Projects span Central Ohio with assignments based on business needs.

The position requires safety experience in construction or related credentials, OSHA certifications, and a commitment to safety standards. OT is eligible and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of safety experience in construction or 5 years on a commercial site, or a degree or completed apprenticeship.
• First Aid/CPR certification is required.
• OSHA 10-hour construction training completed.
• OSHA 30-hour construction training completed is a plus.
• A safety credential from BCSP (e.g., CHST) or working toward certification is a bonus.
• Electrical construction experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Field Operations, Project Operations, GC and trades on safety on the jobsite.
• Assist with collecting safety records after trainings.
• Document injuries, incidents and near misses.
• Sign daily hazard and mitigation checks.
• Monitor large construction sites and enforce safety regulations.
• Complete audits and daily activity reports.
• Stay updated with safety policies and trends and adapt as needed.
• Attend all safety meetings on job sites.

Description

Position: Safety Coordinator

Reports to: Safety Manager

Location: Central Ohio

Pay Range: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour (Eligible for overtime)

Superior is looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator to ensure that every team member on our job sites is safe and secure. The Safety Coordinator will maintain safe conditions for people and property, assist with investigating accidents, and support emergency response.

This role is based on a jobsite and supports projects across Central Ohio with jobsite assignment based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the general contractor and other trade partners
• Assist with the collection of safety records following training sessions
• Document all injuries, incidents, and near misses
• Sign daily paperwork to verify proper hazard and mitigation assessment
• Monitor large construction sites and enforce compliance with government rules & regulations
• Complete audits and daily reports describing activities completed, issues, etc.
• Stay up-to-date with safety policies and trends, i.e. meeting the latest safety standards and establishing new ones from time-to-time as newer risks are discovered
• Attend all safety meetings on the job sites

Your Expertise

• Required: You have at least 1 year of safety experience in construction, OR 5 years of field/project experience on a commercial construction site, OR a degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or completed an apprenticeship program)
• Required: You have a First Aid/CPR certification
• Required: You have completed the OSHA 10-hour construction training course
• Bonus Points: You have completed the OSHA 30-hour construction training course
• Bonus Points: You have a safety credential through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (e.g., CHST) or are actively working toward certification
• Bonus Points: You have electrical construction experience
