Job summary

Superior is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to ensure on-site safety across Fort Wayne, Indiana projects. The role reports to Head of Safety and is based on a Fort Wayne jobsite with overtime eligibility.

Responsibilities include leading safety professionals, coordinating with operations and trade partners, conducting trainings, and documenting incidents. A strong certification set and construction experience are required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a safety professional in construction.
• First Aid/CPR certification is required.
• Completed OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 for Construction.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour Construction training.
• CHST certification or eligibility to sit for it is required.
• ASP or CSP certification is a bonus.
• Experience in electrical construction is a plus.

• Lead and motivate a team of safety professionals on the jobsite.
• Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations, Project Operations, GC and trade partners.
• Conduct jobsite trainings and maintain training records.
• Investigate injuries, incidents and near misses; identify root causes; implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate procedures for crane lifts, excavations, electrical, and other high-risk activities.
• Maintain daily reports describing activities, issues, and conversations.

Position: Construction Safety Manager
Reports to: Head of Safety
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Pay Range: $45 - $57 per hour (Eligible for overtime)

Superior is looking for a Construction Safety Manager to ensure that every team member on our jobsites is safe and secure. The Construction Safety Manager will maintain safe conditions for people and property, investigate and prevent accidents, analyze risks, and handle emergency response. This role is based on a jobsite in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of safety professionals on our jobsite, finding ways to help each grow and succeed
• Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the general contractor and other trade partners
• Conduct various jobsite trainings for team members, and ensure that all training records are logged and maintained
• Investigate and document all injuries, incidents, and near misses; identify the root cause(s); and implement corrective actions
• Evaluate and ensure proper procedures for crane lifts, excavations, electrical, and other high-risk activities
• Maintain daily reports describing activities completed, critical conversations, issues, and other relevant items

Your Expertise

• Required: You have at least 5 years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry
• Required: You have a First Aid/CPR certification
• Required: You have completed the OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards course for the Construction Industry
• Required: You have completed an OSHA 30-hour construction training course
• Required: You have your CHST certification or are willing/eligible to sit for it
• Bonus Points: You are an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
• Bonus Points: You have experience in electrical construction
