Job summary

MEPX is seeking an experienced Director of Safety & Health to lead the company’s safety strategy across construction operations.

This senior role focuses on building a strong safety culture, developing company-wide programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance across jobsites and facilities. The director will coach field leaders, investigate incidents, and drive accountability to protect employees.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive construction safety experience.
• Experience leading safety programs across active commercial, industrial, mechanical, electrical environments.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with executives, project management, superintendents, foremen, and craft professionals.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods and hazards.
• Ability to analyze safety data and translate findings into practical actions.
• Experience driving safety performance through field leadership and training.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve the company’s overarching safety and health programs.
• Establish safety standards, policies, and procedures across the organization.
• Integrate safety into project planning and execution with operations.
• Provide safety leadership to project managers, superintendents, and field teams.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits, audits, inspections, and safety observations.
• Lead investigations of injuries, near misses, and property damage with root-cause analysis.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions and track progress.
• Monitor leading/lagging indicators and report safety performance to leadership.
