Job summary

Haskell Company in the United States is seeking a Safety professional to manage project-specific safety and health issues, protecting employees, contract partner staff, clients, and the public. You will evaluate and coordinate activities to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and policies on each project.

Responsibilities include safety pre-planning, hazard analysis, training, audits, incident reporting, and weekly safety meetings.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Industrial Water experience.
• Recognized safety certification (STS, CSST, CSSS) through BCSP or NCCER.
• Ability to understand and enforce all federal, state, local regulations and company policies.
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in safety pre-planning and hazard analysis for projects.
• Initiates and monitors project drug screening procedures.
• Conducts safety orientation and training for all employees and contract partners on site.
• Conducts safety training for assigned projects.
• Enforces The Haskell Company Code of Safe Practice.
• Supports project superintendent with daily inspections and corrective actions.
• Maintains follow-up procedures to ensure identified items are corrected.
• Stops operations if imminent hazards are identified and coordinates corrective action.
• Verifies training of those involved in hazard generation.
• Communicates with Regional Safety Supervisor on all safety issues; performs Safety Evaluation Reports.
• Participates in pre-construction and subcontractor safety meetings.
• Conducts weekly safety meetings with all project employees.
• Enforces safety rules per disciplinary guidelines.
• Maintains training records and project safety documentation.
• Administers record keeping/reporting per regulatory agencies and company policies.
• Conducts accident investigations and assists in reporting incidents.
• Inspects and maintains safety equipment.
• Issues permits for confined spaces and hot work.
• Accompanies authorized outside personnel on safety inspections.
• Performs additional assignments as directed.
