Job summary

Rex Moore is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist I to promote a safe work environment and lead safety program improvements on national projects in the Cedar Rapids area. The role emphasizes reducing incidents and ensuring regulatory compliance through proactive assessments and collaboration with site leads.

The position requires OSHA 30 Construction Certification within 5 years and a board-certified safety credential (CSP/ASP/CHST).

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ full time safety experience in construction; strong injury prevention knowledge.
• OSHA 30 Construction Certification within 5 years.
• Board-certified safety credential (CSP/ASP/CHST) preferred; strong regulatory knowledge.
• First Aid, CPR & AED certifications; able to lead in emergencies.
• Competent in NFPA 70E, excavation, fall protection, confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety assessments/inspections on projects to ensure compliance with safety plans and regulations.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to reduce injuries and health problems.
• Assist with Method of Procedure (MOP) and critical activity plans.
• Conduct safety/compliance training for supervisors and field employees.
• Provide written reports documenting site visits, incidents and root causes.
