Nucor Corporation's Phoenix division seeks a field and shop safety professional to support field and shop Supervisors, implement safety programs, and ensure regulatory compliance across projects in Phoenix, AZ.

The role emphasizes conducting safety training, audits, and incident investigations, with frequent travel to job sites. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential, along with OSHA credentials.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college; construction trade training acceptable.
• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500 and 510 preferred.
• Ability to obtain OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 within 6 months of employment.
• Knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards.
• Ability to work as a team member with problem-solving skills.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support Field Supervisors and Branch Managers with all aspects of field/shop safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with safety program, contractor’s safety programs, and applicable federal/state regulations.
• Take corrective action with Foremen, Superintendents, Teammates or General Contractors for safety concerns.
• Visit project sites to audit safety plans and prepare monthly safety reports.
• Assist in issuing warnings and instructing on safe work practices.
• Demonstrate conduct aligned with Nucor Rebar Fabrication vision and values.
• Assist in safety training and mentoring programs for new hires.
• Assist in accident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Assist in injury/claims management and OSHA recordkeeping.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
