Job summary

K-Five Construction Corporation is seeking a Safety Specialist to help foster a culture of safety across office and field settings in the Chicagoland area. You will inspect worksites, enforce safety policies, and lead incident investigations to prevent injuries and incidents.

The role requires 1–4 years in safety, construction experience, and a Bachelor’s in Safety or related field. Expect collaboration with superintendents and participation in OSHA/EPA inspections.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of practical experience within the Safety capacity.
• Construction industry experience required; road construction experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field.
• Proficient in MS Office products.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Company remains in compliance with governmental regulations.
• Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices.
• Implement safety programs and procedures.
• Assist employees with all aspects of safety.
• Monitor effectiveness of hazard controls and hazard control programs.
• Conduct safety meetings as needed.
• Conduct safety training as needed.
• Conduct job site inspections and observations.
• Prepare written reports on job site inspections.
• Complete incident/accident investigation and reporting.
• Collaborate with Superintendents to monitor compliance and safety concerns.
• Intervene in unsafe activities or operations.
• Conduct new hire safety orientation.
