Job summary

Brinkmann Constructors is seeking a Safety Coordinator to build a culture of health and safety on project sites. You will lead safety efforts, train on-site staff, and partner with the Operations team to prevent accidents and mitigate risk.

This role emphasizes collaboration with project teams and sub contractors to embed safety into daily operations. The position requires strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, plus experience in large construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Multi-family construction experience preferred.
• Experience managing safety on large construction projects preferred.
• Ability to administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse program, investigate/report injuries and other on-site safety functions.
• Ability to work with all construction groups: management, owners, trades and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and Brinkmann employees.
• Discuss safety with on-site Subcontractors Supervisory Personnel.
• Coordinate with Project Supervision to ensure PPE and safety materials are utilized.
• Record and forward safety meeting documents to the Safety Director for tracking.
• Coordinate responses to inspection reports from Brinkmann’s insurance company.
• Conduct documented Project Safety and Health Inspections.
• Investigate all injuries and coordinate corrective measures.
• Keep current all required safety documents and literature.
• Monitor protection of the public by minimizing construction hazards.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log of injuries and illnesses.
• Implement Brinkmann safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Work with Safety Manager, project managers, and superintendents to integrate safety into every project.
• Coordinate compliance with Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plans.
