Job summary

Brinkmann Constructors is seeking a Safety Specialist to uphold a culture of health and safety for employees, subcontractors, and the public. You will partner with operations to prevent accidents, manage risk, and deliver on-site training and safety plans.

You will monitor subcontractor and employee safety efforts, coordinate PPE/procedures, and maintain records while enforcing Brinkmann safety policies. Collaboration with the Safety Manager and project teams is essential to integrate safety

Qualifications

• 6+ years Safety Experience
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
• Experience managing safety efforts on large construction projects preferred
• Oversee safety orientations; administer substance abuse program; investigate injuries
• Ability to collaborate with management, owners, trades and subcontractors; strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and Brinkmann employees
• Coordinate with on-site Supervisory Personnel to ensure PPE and safety materials are used
• Record safety meetings, programs, inspections, and directives for tracking
• Investigate injuries and coordinate corrective actions with staff/ subcontractors
• Ensure safety documents stay current and safety literature is maintained
• Implement Brinkmann safety policies and programs; work with Safety Manager and project managers
• Coordinate compliance with Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plans
• Other duties as assigned
