Job summary

Adams Electric Company seeks a Field Safety Specialist to ensure adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across projects. This role supports site safety audits, training delivery, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with field leadership to maintain a safe work environment.

The specialist will conduct inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions, providing guidance on PPE, safety practices, and NFPA 70E compliance.

Qualifications

• An in-depth knowledge of Adams Electric Company Environmental, Health, and Safety Manual.
• An in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations per 29 CFR 1926 and 29 CFR 1910.
• A strong working knowledge of the NFPA 70E manual.
• Skilled at creating, filing, maintenance, and disposition criteria for personnel and company records.
• Proficient in web/database safety and training programs.
• Proficient in writing internal and external correspondence.
• Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to focus, organize, and prioritize essential functions of this job to meet deadlines.
• Ability to foster and maintain teamwork skills.
• Demonstrates proficient and professional communication skills.
• Able to adjust and be flexible to sudden demands.
• Ability to present to and train both large and small groups on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform Construction Site and Safety Audits, e.g., Adams Project Site Safety Inspection.
• Actively participate in project handoff programs and processes, including site preparation and team acclimation.
• Provide communication and documentation of inspections with corrective measures via Adams information systems.
• Conduct quality control inspections of leadership personnel ensuring safety forms/inspections are followed.
• Ensure projects have safety apparatus, PPE, potable water, latrines, first aid, etc.
• Provide consultation to field leadership to maintain a safe working environment and compliance.
• Assist supervisors to enforce safety policy and EH guidelines.
• Train project site personnel on health and safety topics.
• Provide direct technical surveillance and testing services as required.
• Enforce Adams Safety policies and procedures.
• Perform scheduled Site Safety Audits as needed or requested.
• Assist leadership with incident and near-miss investigations.
• Provide in-house training for OSHA 10- & 30-hour, First Aid/CPR/AED, and other safety topics.
• Record, file, and distribute training certifications for trainees.
• Attend Safety meetings representing Adams professionally.
