Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City seeks a Construction Section Manager to lead the construction global practice. You will direct a high‑performing team, align work with business strategy, and drive safety, quality, and profitability while delivering exceptional client service.

You will oversee project planning, budgeting, risk management, and cross‑functional coordination with engineering, BD, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety/engineering or related field and 5+ years in safety/construction leadership.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to present to executives and clients.
• Experience with safety management systems and governance.
• Experience with TD delivery models and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordinate work assignments; ensure staff utilization.
• Manage profitable growth of the section; meet billable goals.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, and objectives.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget; emphasize safety and quality.
• Lead cross-functional communication between Engineering GP and Construction.
• Oversee budgets, cash flow, and risk communication.
• Collaborate with BD managers and proposal teams.
• Conduct safety, quality, progress, and financial audits.
